Yin Massage for more Flow & Qi
Share
Today I'm sharing with you a small but very powerful Yin massage routine – for more Flow & Qi (life energy according to TCM). It's easy to implement, only takes a few minutes – and acts like a gentle reset button for your system.
For me as a Yin Yoga teacher, this practice is more than just a movement: It's a conscious invitation to connect with your body, your breath, and your inner center ♡♀️
What exactly is Qi?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Qi is our life energy. It flows through so-called meridians – energy pathways that run throughout our entire body. When Qi can flow freely, we feel alive, clear, and connected. If it stagnates, restlessness, fatigue, or even pain can arise.
With a Yin massage, you can gently bring your Qi into motion. You activate your meridians, stimulate important points in the body – and thereby enter into a mindful connection with yourself.
How my little routine works
I love starting with this simple Yin massage:
- I massage certain areas 3 times slowly in a row – this stimulates energy flow and at the same time has a calming effect on the nervous system.
- Start at the neck, moving forward to the throat, body center to the rib arch, back to the kidneys (here you can exhale all accumulated energy through your mouth), further to the back of the legs, down to the toes (only as far down as is comfortable for you), up the inside of the legs again, body center, and finally the upper arms. This is a complete round ♡
- Important: I consciously pause at one point – feel what is there – and give the body space.
- During this, I breathe (belly breathing) calmly, deeply, and allow a lot of softness.
In my reel, I only turned around so you could see what I was doing. In practice, you can stay completely with yourself.
Yin Massage: A Self-Care Ritual for Every Day
You can wonderfully incorporate this type of self-massage into your daily life – in the morning to arrive, during stress, or in the evening as a loving ritual before going to sleep.
♀️ Feel consciously.
♀️ Give yourself space for what arises.
♀️ Back to your roots.
Part 2 coming soon...
I will soon share the next part of this little Yin series with you – so stay tuned!
Just try it out – and if you have any questions, feel free to write to me. I look forward to hearing from you ♡♀️
